How To Screw Up Your Personal Blog

All it takes to go from 100 readers a day to 5,000 is a single rant going viral. That's exactly what happened to me. Overnight I became a blogging somebody. Suddenly I was in the top 5,000 blogs in the world out of 70 million, getting interviewed for "real" radio, and the momentum seemed unstoppable. Only, it wasn't. What you do if you "go viral" is everything — so here's what not to do, from personal experience. My bad judgment then combined with others' too-readily-offered bad advice, tempered by hindsight, is a lesson to be learned, so I'm prepared to be brutally honest about How It All Went Wrong, and share some of my thoughts on what I've learned through the rollercoaster of it all.

Presenter bio: Another casualty of the recession, after a decade spent in the film industry, Steffani Cameron is taking some time to write a memoir based in part on her adventures and her blog Smut & Steff, once also known as The Cunting Linguist. Born & raised in Vancouver, Canada, she's curious what new adventures will be brought after getting uninvited from the employment party, and can be found interrupting her productivity with things like Twitter, where she mouths off & influences people as SmuttySteff.
